We need to raise money to get the Sovereign Nation State of Shetland off to a successful start.

The Nation needs to acquire a suitable piece of property, which will provide a focus for its activities.

The Conference is yet to be funded.

There needs to be sufficient money to carry out the necessary ongoing activities.

For this to be properly accomplished, we are looking to raise £250,000 to start with.

To raise the money, it has been decided to follow the example of the Irish revolutionaries at the turn of the century, when they issued bonds to be repayable when the Irish State was recognised.

Our bonds are similar, except that they are priced in Shetland pounds. A Shetland Pound is equivalent to a British pound today, but is tied to commodity prices, rather than a currency. As all currencies depreciate against commodities, due to inflation in each country, the Shetland Pound will rise against all currencies.

Denominations available are 10, 50, 100 1,000 and 5,000 Shetland Pounds.
